The NGO Sauvons 2 vies , in partnership with The AFLÉ Foundation, proceeded with the distribution of medical kits to young mothers to prevent obstetric fistulas, in the health district of Boauké, central part of Côte d'Ivoire.
The next edition will take place in Korhogho, in the northern part of the country.
"In Côte d'Ivoire, the prevalence of obstetric fistulas was estimated to 9424 cases with 250 new cases each year. Since 2003, The United Nations Population Funds (UNFPA) and its partners, have initiated an international campaign to eradicate obstetric fistulas in the world. In Côte d'Ivoire, this programm has helped around 100 000 women recover physically and emotionally."
